Get Your Probiotics!


Did you know that most of your immune system is in your gut? That’s why it’s so important to support your gut health because a healthy gut equals a healthy immune system! When our gut barrier breaks down, our immune system can lose it’s ability to do it’s job. In addition, we may also have poor absorption of some important vitamins and minerals. There are a variety of factors that can irritate our guts including stress, toxins, processed sugary foods, alcohol, and foods we may be sensitive to like dairy or gluten. To help support healthy gut flora, include more fermented foods in your diet that contain probiotics (good bacteria). Dietary sources of probiotics include yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, pickled foods, and kombucha. Kombucha is my new favorite! It’s a raw beverage made by fermenting sweetened black tea and can come in a variety of refreshing flavors. It can also be made from scratch!
